This is a popular Brazilian proverb. It means that in some situations, it's better to keep silence to avoid terrible consequences. It's often said that when two people are discussing, keep your mouth shut it's better than say something that will make the situation worse. I like this proverb because it helps me to think two times when I'll say something to someone. When two people are discussing, before I say something, I stop and think about what say and if it's better say something or not. I learned this proverb in a movie that I watched.
